the beauty edit | professional babeA few months ago I was invited to The Beauty Prescription by Priceline. What’s that you ask? Oh, just a little event with hundreds of other beauty influencers, top brands and a mountain of free products to try! To dig the knife in and make you a little more jealous… there was a barista making free coffee all day, bottomless cups of Messina gelato and trend talks by the beauty elite including makeup extraordinaire Rae Morris (which I was lucky enough to interview!)

I was so excited I had to cool down by fanning myself with a sheet mask. I’m actually doing it right now too. Beauty gets me going, what can I say?!

I had high hopes to release this article a few short days after the event, but life got in the way and it was put on a back burner until I had the time to the effort in. Though with the weeks passing, it’s given me the ability to test out every product and only recommend those that truly made a standout impression for me.

It’s important to note that not every brand stocked at Priceline was at the Beauty Prescription event, so I’ve included some of my faithful products that I’m continually purchasing.

Cinch_Solo1. Cinch Face Cheat Moisture + Glow – $39.95

Face Cheat was marketed to me as the swiss army knife of skincare – it hydrates, illuminates, reduces the appearance of wrinkles AND replaces your need for a makeup primer. Being lazy AF and pressing snooze on my alarm too many times appealed to the lazy girl in me that’s often short on time.

BEAUTY TIP: I LOVE KEEPING PRODUCTS LIKE THIS IN THE FRIDGE.

Screen Shot 2017-04-19 at 1.16.43 PM2. The Smile Makers Collection – Starts at $19.99

I believe that beauty starts with a smile. And what’s the most smile-inducing feeling? An orgasm of course! The Smile Makers Collection is comprised of personal lubricants and vibrators made with high-quality and safe materials that are very reasonably priced. The packaging is cute, sweet and totally non-offensive and the ranges of personal massagers enables you to go to bed with a French man, Tennis Coach and even a Millionaire every night of the week.

15023_xlarge_13. Rimmel Lipsticks – Starts at $10.95

It’s taken me a while to get comfortable with wearing lippy, but it’s taken even longer to find an affordable range I love. I like to have six or so on rotation in my beauty wardrobe which is why affordability is so important to me. My favourite of their ranges includes the Kate Moss collection which includes nudes and reds for every complexion. Retro red by the Kate Moss collection is my all-time favourite colour.

19560_xlarge4. Models Prefer Samantha Jade Liquid Liner – $9.95

Whenever I think of this eyeliner I hear harps in the background and beams of light appear, so it must be heaven sent. My journey to find the perfect eyeliner has seen me spend over $1000.00 on finding the perfect one (I’m actually not kidding. Send help) so I can’t believe this is so perfect and only $9.95. It’s the blackest of blacks, easy to apply and it’s a pen formula to it’s easy to throw in your handbag.

BEAUTY TIP: THE LOW PRICE POINT MEANS YOU SHOULD BUY TWO – ONE FOR YOUR BEAUTY CUPBOARD AND ONE FOR YOUR HANDBAG.

af6c82e9e44fb00e3f458cb8bf2069c4_best5. Montblanc Lady Emblem Elixir EDP – $67.00

I love perfume because it’s a little indulgence you can add into your life every morning. And I was so drawn to the bottle that I didn’t really care what it smelt like but… drumroll… it actually smells ah-mazing. The fragrance features top notes of damask rose diffused by a wave of honey and spices with the base revealing an intensely woody signature of patchouli and vanilla.

BEAUTY TIP: KEEP YOUR EYE OUT FOR THE AMAZING FRAGRANCE SALES THAT PRICELINE OFTEN HAS.

c651efd9476f724322d7f249cdc7df20_best6. Bioderma Collection – Starts at $16.99

Bioderma products make my skin happy, healthy and photoshoot ready. The different colour ranges make the brand incredibly easy to navigate to find products to suit your skin. Sensibio is the pink range and it’s my hands-down favourite for daily use and it works so well to sooth my sensitive skin and calm the redness it’s prone to.

BEAUTY TIP: THEIR POPULAR MICELLAR WATER IS THE BEST MAKEUP REMOVER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN AND IT’S OIL FREE.

c6e2a9813cf0e882fc90f5f52ac9dfdc_best7. La Roche Posay Collection –  Starts at $9.99

Another one of my French Pharmacy favourites is the LRP brand. I wear their Uvidea XL BB cream in lieu of foundation and it’s perfect for fairer complexions like mine. I use their Toleriane Night cream daily and every morning I use their Thermal Water Spray to wet my fringe pre-blowdry. Probably not the best use for an expensive thermal water but YOLO guys.

11823_xlarge_18. Lanolips Everywhere Multi-Cream – $12.00

I’m not a fan of the grease factor you get from coconut or paw-paw based products but I believe everyone needs a multi-use cream you can throw in your handbag. The Lanolips all-over cream is free from nasties and can transform your dry skin to silky, smooth and hydrated. This product is a perfect day & night cream, body cream and hand cream.

YOU’RE AMONGST A CELEBRITY WHEN YOU OWN THIS…IT’S WON OVER 50 AWARDS!
