Self love on v-day

Today is Valentines day and a perfect day to start practicing self-love!

Yeah I know, if you’re single it’s really easy to sook. I’ve been there many times. Single or not, it’s still important to do small things for yourself to make you feel loved.

If you are sans man (or lady!), doesn’t mean you have to miss out on things like flowers and small gestures to show love.

So here we go, your prescription for today is to do at least ONE from the list below. If you’re up for a challenge make sure this is a weekly occurrence.  Oh and you can’t feel guilty either! You have to love every single moment of it and know that you are a super loveable babe that deserves this!

Below are my favourite ways to practice self love. It’s now a habit that I make sure I add into my life on a regular basis and I never take it for granted or feel guilty about it either. Tell me below if you have any more ways you like to show self love. I would love to hear from you!

1. Breakfast in bed 
Pancakes are a treat but you have to add ice cream. It’s still considered healthy if theres fruit on the plate and lucky for you pancakes with vanilla ice cream AND strawberries taste fab!

2. Heading out for a champagne breakfast
Or lunch or dinner. Take yourself out. You are definitely worth it. And who knows, you could be sitting across from a total hottie.

3. Buying yourself a big bunch of flowers
Get into a regular habit of this. Nothing sweeter than having a house filled with blooms.

4. Getting a blowdry
Those who have fabulous hair conquer the world. Isn’t it funny how confident we feel when our hair looks fabulous!

5. A big bubble bath with a tray of berries and chocolate to munch on
Curl up in a beautiful warm bath with a tray of indulgent snacks, nice music and a great book. Just don’t drop anything in. Been there, done that.

6. Buying yourself a good book or stack of magazines
Slot an hour of two into your diary like an appointment and stick to it. If magazines aren’t your thing I’m a fan of pinterest.

7. Booking a massage or facial 
Gary Chapman talks about physical touch as being one of the five love languages. If you are a fan of hugs and affection, make sure you have these booked at least once a month.

8. Taking a Pilates or Yoga class
Hell babe, just go buy yourself a 10 pack. Exercising is a fabulous and rewarding way for self love. I created my stretching DVD because it’s so important to honour and love your body.

9. Create a beautiful space
I treat my bedside table as a beautiful altar and it’s the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing at night. It reminds me I have beauty in my life and gives me permission to buy beautiful things like crystals.

10. Do something nice for someone you love
I think this falls under self love because when you do something nice for someone else that is unexpected, you can’t help but feel good. Today I dropped a rose, box of chocolates, a cupcake and a handmade card off to one of my gorgeous single gals. I felt so good after!
