6 iconic nude and red lipstick shades from the new Kate Moss Rimmel Anniversary Lipstick collection
A very nice perk of my job is sampling the new products coming onto the market and knowing the trends before anyone else. It’s a hard job but someone has to do it.
I get excited by new products, especially ones of a low price point. It’s not like I’m cheap, but I’m going to tell you now I’m high-maintenance. The downside? I spend a lot on my appearance each month which doesn’t leave much money for beauty products.
One thing I believe you can compromise on is lipstick. If you head to my makeup bag they’re all drugstore purchases you can find at Priceline. When these Kate Moss for Rimmel Anniversary Lasting Finish lipsticks landed on my desk this week I knew I’d be impressed and began swatching straight away.
The Kate Moss and Rimmel relationship has been long-lasting, with the collection recently celebrating 15 years. You know it’s good if it’s been around for that long!
The range features six shades in total including three nudes and three reds. Although these can be the hardest shades to purchase, Rimmel makes it easy by matching each shade to particular skin tones.
I think the important thing about lipstick is picking colours that suit your skin tone as I used to make the mistake of picking reds that were way too warm for my complexion and made my teeth look so stained and yellow. But the collection is fantastic as there really is a nude and a red shade for every complexion.
From the collection, my favourite shade would have to be the Retro Red, but for those interested to find out which shades suit which skin tone:
- Muse Red #51 – Blue-based for cool toned skin
- Idol Red #52 – Orange-based for warm skin
- Retro Red #53 – Plum undertones for neutral
- Rock N Roll Nude #54 – Pink based nude for cool skin tones
- My Nude #55 – Neutral nude for neutral skin tone
- Boho Nude #56 – Apricot based tones for warm tones
Here I am wearing shade #53, #54 & #51
The colours are rich in pigment and long-lasting. I went out for a meal and didn’t need to worry about reapplying after which is also a slight concern especially if you plan on having a few vinos.
The even sweeter thing about the Kate Moss Rimmel Anniversary lipsticks? They don’t break the bank, with every shade costing $13.95 each, available at Priceline stores nationally.
