It will improve your sex life… & 9 other reasons you should start Pilates

10 reasons you should start Pilates today, that won’t talk about the usual core-strengthening & posture improving benefits!

Maybe I’m biased, but I think Pilates is the bees knees. Whenever someone has a problem in life, I believe Pilates is the answer.

Tight back? Pilates.

Having trouble sleeping? Pilates.

Boyfriend issues? Pilates.

And 10 other reasons you should start…

The method isn’t a fad. It’s definitely here to stay. Even science says so! It isn’t an airy-fairy form of exercise; the sequences, exercises and method work because it focuses on the biomechanics of the body and how it should move. So you aren’t wasting your hard earned coin on exercise that’s only popular because a top women’s magazine said so.

All those little niggles and injuries you suffer from on a regular basis? Your Pilates instructor will know exactly what it is, no matter how obscure you think your condition is and we’ll also fix it. Pilates is fabulous for rehabilitating and supporting any injuries you have.

Hate your butt? Well, we love it! Hate squats? Well, let’s just say they aren’t our favourite exercise either as often they’re done incorrectly. We know that pesky butt muscles sometimes don’t want to work and we make it our mission to give you the strongest perkiest bottom ever (that usually doesn’t involve a single squat!).

Want to work out the way your favourite celebrity or athlete does? Chances are they do Pilates. It’s Dita Von Teese’s exercise of choice because she doesn’t sweat out her blow dry. If Pilates is good enough for Dita. It’s good enough for us.

Had a baby and worried you’re going to cough in public? Start Pilates! Pilates is fantastic for repairing abdominal separation, strengthening up your core & pelvic floor after you’ve had a baby. Thinking of starting a family? It’s a wise idea to get your booty to a Pilates class prior and continuing your practice through pregnancy.

Can’t touch your toes or ever dream of being flexible. Pilates will make you flexible beyond belief. I’ve personally had clients reach their splits before from one class per week. Because we focus on the body as a whole, we understand that not being able to touch your toes isn’t just hamstring tightness. You can read more about why you can’t touch your toes here.

It’s the perfect stress-relieving activity to do. Worried you’re going to kill your husband/boyfriend/manfriend in your life? Come and kill some of that rage on the reformer. It’s the perfect endorphin producing activity to do.

Want something to compliment your CrossFit, running, dancing or swimming regime? Pilates is like one of those beige convertible bras that goes with everything. Pilates benefits every form of exercise you’re currently doing.

Sex life feeling a little ho-hum? When you practice Pilates it strengthens up your core muscles which includes your pelvic floor in that mix. Strong pelvic floor muscles = strong orgasms! You can thank me later.

Nipples pointing north? I know I said we wouldn’t touch on posture, but improving your posture will improve which way your bust goes. I’ve had many testimonials from my Pilates clientele thanking me for the improvement with their bust!

If that doesn’t inspire you to start Pilates then I don’t know what will. But trust me when I say that it will change your life for the better!
