When you’re a busy and ambitious female with a whole lot of deadlines and no time to do them all, me-time can take a back seat.
Before we know it, we’ll crash and burn and end up in bed. It’s important to have me-time scheduled throughout your day.
Not only will it mean you’ll be better at the task at hand when you come back to it, but it’s a great mental health practice to schedule into your day.
Walk for a coffee
Walking is a great endorphin boosting activity. There’s nothing nicer than a dose of fresh air when you’ve been cooped up at your desk all day. Take 5 and walk for your coffee across the road instead of opting for the office instant blend.
Sit in your car and listen to a favourite song before going inside
If you’ve had a bad day at work, it’s the worst when you take the bad mood home with you. To pep you up before you go inside, play a favourite song to listen, relax and wind down.
Eat something you love
Take yourself out for a treat and enjoy it. Never feel guilty when you indulge.
Rearrange your bedside table
Beautiful things make us feel special. Buy yourself a gorgeous bunch of flowers and rearrange your bedside table to showcase everything you love and things that make you smile.
Stretching is proven to elevate your mood and improve your health. It’s a great mental health and physical health habit to get into.
A mindless activity that can also double as an organisational tool. Stumped for what to cook for dinner? Then browse the delicious recipes and pin til your hearts content. Decorating? Search ‘scandi interiors’. You can thank me later.
Have a bath
Bath or shower. Just create a ritual and enjoy it. Buy lush body products and turn a mundane routine into an indulgent self-care practice.
