5 reasons feeling sexy is important and the easiest ways to start feeling it!
I feel as a female, it’s a constant tug-a-war of people telling you to love yourself and your appearance and others telling you that liking how you look is conceited. No wonder we struggle with our self-confidence.
Feeling good about how I look used to be something I struggled with. Buying boobs definitely helped! And also taking care of myself a little more too.
We often think we can feel good about ourselves when we hit our goal weight or we get a boyfriend. All those shitty excuses. When we get them, we set the bar just that little higher. It’s almost like we don’t want ourselves to be happy.
When really, we could feel great about how our appearance right now if we wanted to.
I believe it’s important for every woman to feel good about her appearance. Here’s why feeling sexy and good about yourself is important:
Because you should validate you
I used to date men to tell me I was pretty and with their validation I would feel good about myself. Maybe it’s why I always wanted to be in a relationship as I was constantly seeking approval from others as I never got it from myself. It’s important to feel great in yourself before you start to date other people.
Because confidence is sexy
When we feel good about ourselves and our appearance, others can tell. Confidence is such an attractive quality in anyone. When we are confident, we don’t settle. When we are confident, we know our worth. And a woman who is confident and knows exactly what she wants is totally sexy!
You’ll have better posture
When we feel good about ourselves we want to stand taller and we naturally hold ourselves better. Quick little Pilates lesson, but slouching and poor posture can lead to disc degeneration due to the compression of slouching on your spine and it can affect your digestion too! So remember feeling sexy isn’t just important for you, it’s important for your health.
You’ll make better choices
When we feel good we’re in a better frame of mind to make choices. We’ll naturally look for the bright side of a not-so-sunny situation. We’re more open-minded too. (Disclaimer. There have been times when feeling a little too sexy has meant some sexy liaisons with handsome strangers. Good idea? I’ll leave that up to you!)
Feeling sexy leads to sex
Well duh! When we feel good about ourselves we naturally want to get our kit off and have adult sleepovers. Not only is great sex is fantastic for elevating our mood, but it’s well documented that it’s a great form of exercise, can ease stress and improve sleep!
And here’s how to feel sexier in you…
There are a number of ways that you can feel good about your appearance. But here’s my favourite:
❤ Buying new lingerie that fits you well (just make sure you wear it, don’t just reserve it for special occasions!)
❤ Moving your body, whether that be dancing, Pilates, my stretching DVD or even yoga
❤ Pampering your appearance, whether that be a facial, massage, body wrap or wash & blow-dry
❤ Taking yourself out for an indulgent lunch or afternoon tea
❤ Getting dressed up and going out with your girlfriends for a wine and some food
❤ Putting on some music and either relaxing in the bath with wine or dancing around your house with wine (there’s a theme here I think!)
❤ Have sex (or solo sex!)
❤ Talking to someone to help you work through body image issues.
❤ Write down all the things about yourself you love
❤ Wear some perfume
❤ Embrace yourself and how you look. Start talking to yourself how you would a best friend. And I always pinch my friends on the butt and tell them how hot they are.
❤ Flirt with a cute stranger
❤ Do a photoshoot (everyone should have nice photos of themselves)
❤ Or my personal favourites. Doll yourself up like you’re going on a VERY important date. Put on your best knickers and your favourite heels and dance around to Lana Del Rey with wine in one hand and chocolate in the other.
